Hello world,
Firstly a quick update on me. I have been absent for a while I know mainly due to me having a real job! I know shocking. I am currently a mobile asset tester at Marks and Spencers (I am basically making sure their mobile websites work properly). That has kept me occupied for the last few weeks so my 3D work was put on the back burner for a while but I've just started up again and the long awaited penthouse (see below) will be finished in the next week or two hopefully.
Anyway boring bit over.....look at what I found on CGArchitect:
Amazing!
I hope youre all taking note as one day this will be me!..........one day.

Finished Kitchen
So I finally finished the kitchen that i've been doing on and off for the last few months.
I think ive got the lighting right and the textures are great considering I made them from scratch. I probably could have added more design pieces in but to be honest I wanted to finish it and see how it turned out.
The outside has been photoshopped in and I had to do a bit of research how to do it so its not perfect but I think it does the job.
The kitchen items are models from evermotion.

Interior kitchen design
This is a kitchen design that was to test my interior modelling. I'm still trying to work out the best way to add in the external shots on the windows but this gives a good idea of what I want the final render to look like. I might work on a few kitchen items to add. Everything in this room has been modelled by me so far.

The Real World...
So....after a fairly hefty break from working im now trying to get back into the swing of things and trying to complete my portfolio so I can enter the real world and get a job.
Ive done a few bits of work (some more finished than others) that im hoping will become part of my portfolio. Im going to post them here at some point today mostly so I can see myself how they are developing as the weeks go on.
Im going to try and find some tutorials on compositing and some more VFX related work so I can add that in too.
Until next time.....

Client Project - Evaluation
This is the feedback from my client on the helicopter prototype that I created for the client project.
PROTOTYPE AM-44
Andrew's analysis and understanding of the task in hand meant that he successfully covered all the major aspects in creating a fully rendered three dimensional object into a live action plate in the short time available. He started with his viral idea for a defence company creating a single shot as promotional material. Beginning with his initial sketches and then transferred them into a 3D model he realised a design idea that was not too complicated but challenged his skills in Autodesk 3DS Max. He covered the basics of creating textures and UV mapping as well as the fundamentals of lighting an object. His technical exercises and studies in lighting gave him the ability to seamlessly blend the object into a live action plate which he shot with an HD camera. Careful data such as lighting direction and lens information was gathered while shooting the plate which aided in making the compositing in After Effects easier. Animation and effects added the final components to this successful piece of work.
