So the alumni project has been handed in now. This is the final video.
I think it has turned out really well. I used some techniques in a tutorial I found. http://www.maxafter.com/tuts/heartRateM/heartR.html I had to use this as I not really that confident in aftereffects so had to follow guides.
I like the way that it all looks quite seamless with the scanlines and bend of the screen it all adds to the effect. I have also used trent colours to make it relevant.
I had to edit the sound in but it seems to work ok.

Client Update
Ive neglected the blog a bit over the last few weeks.
I am well into the simulated client project now. I thought about what message i wanted to get across and to what area I wanted to aim at. I decided on trying to guilttrip alumni into giving money. In the style of charity adverts. The university and the alumni association puts alot of money into cancer research at the uni and I want to use this as a theme.
I thought about creating a 3d model of a person with a heart rate monitor which flatlines then starts again however I thought about the time contraints and I also wanted to try and use Aftereffects as ive never used it before and wanted to get to know how to use it.
In the end after a bit of research I decided to create a heart rate monitor screen in Aftereffects and continue with the same basic idea of the monitor flatlining then starting again.
I have created most of the bits in aftereffects and all the drawings/storyboard etc. Its turned out pretty well and I will post some shots of my progress after this. I still need to put it all together, add sound and text but I am happy with the way it is coming along.
